The Bear Inn - A traditional pub with modern courtyard rooms, homemade dining, and free WiFi in Llantrisant
The Bear Inn in Llantrisant offers modern rooms set in a private courtyard behind a traditional pub. The rooms feature private bathrooms, tea and coffee makers, and flat-screen TVs with streaming services like Netflix and Prime. Bathrooms have walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. The on-site restaurant and bar serve homemade food with generous portions, including full English breakfasts and Sunday carvery. The pub has a garden and courtyard seating, and is dog-friendly. The property is located in the centre of Llantrisant, within a 25-minute drive of Cardiff, and near attractions such as Cardiff Castle, Llandaff Cathedral, and Creigiau Golf Course. The Bear Inn provides free parking in nearby public car parks, though some involve a short walk uphill. Guests at The Bear Inn have praised the quality and value of the food and the welcoming staff.
Pros
The separate accommodation block ensures quiet nights away from pub noise.
A log burner in the pub creates a warm and inviting atmosphere in winter.
The staff are flexible with breakfast times and check-out arrangements.
Cask ales and a varied selection of draft beers are available.
Cons
The property has no on-site parking; guests rely on free public car parks.
The pub is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, restricting evening dining.
“The rooms, set in a quiet courtyard, present a modern and immaculate standard, with notably comfortable beds and exceptional shower facilities. Guests find the warmth extends from the clean, well-appointed accommodations to the welcoming atmosphere of the pub itself, where friendly service and good value dining are consistently noted. It's a place where attention to detail clearly makes for a thoroughly pleasant stay.”
